1. Who we are
This policy explains how VELAI ("we", "us") collects and processes personal data when you visit velai.studio or contact us. We act as the "controller" of this data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws.
2. What data we collect
- Contact & enquiry data you submit through our request form or by email — such as your name, email address, company, selected package and the details of your product/goal.
- Usage & device data collected automatically when you browse — such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referrer and interactions, via cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
- Order & communication data generated when you become a client — such as correspondence, briefs, and billing information handled by our payment/invoicing providers.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data. Please do not send it to us.
3. How & why we use it (legal bases)
- To respond to enquiries and provide quotes — legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
- To provide the Services and manage orders — legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To operate, secure and improve the website — legal basis: our legitimate interests, or your consent where required for non-essential cookies.
- Marketing & advertising measurement (e.g. Meta Pixel) — legal basis: your consent, where required.
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.
4. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies, including third-party tools:
- Microsoft Clarity — analytics and session insights to understand how the site is used.
- Meta Pixel — advertising measurement and audience tools provided by Meta.
These tools may set cookies and process usage data as independent or joint controllers under their own policies. For details and choices, see our Cookie Policy. Where consent is required, non-essential tools should only run after you have consented.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data with service providers ("processors") that help us run our business, including:
- Formspree — processes submissions from our contact form.
- Microsoft Clarity and Meta — analytics and advertising (see section 4).
- Hosting, email, and payment/invoicing providers.
- Professional advisers and authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. How long we keep data
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards; client, order and billing records for as long as required for the engagement and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations; and analytics data for the retention periods set by the relevant provider.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise your rights, email info@velai.studio.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Our website and Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published here, with the "Last updated" date above.
